What Does Depth-Oriented Therapy Actually Look Like?
Jungian Oriented Therapy + Depth Psychology
We get curious about what’s happening beneath the surface through:
Dreams, symbols + recurring themes
The unconscious + your inner world
Shadow work therapy + parts of yourself you’ve learned to hide or push away
Psychodynamic + Relational Therapy
We explore how your past may still be showing up in the present, including:
Early relationships + experiences
Patterns you understand but still find yourself repeating
How you experience closeness, conflict + vulnerability
Psychodynamic therapy for trauma helps us understand where patterns began while creating more choice in what happens next.
Attachment + Trauma-Informed Therapy
We make room for the ways you learned to protect yourself in relationships, including:
Anxious + avoidant attachment patterns
Abandonment, people-pleasing + self-abandonment
Perfectionism, self-trust + difficulty knowing what you need
This may include therapy for attachment issues, therapy for abandonment trauma, and trauma informed therapy for perfectionism.
Somatic Therapy
Because sometimes your mind understands something long before your body feels it.
Notice nervous system responses + body sensations
Slow down automatic protective patterns
Reconnect with emotions, needs + inner knowing
We’re not trying to force your body to calm down. We’re learning how to listen to it.
TESTIMONIALS
Working with Nadia was instantly transformative. I'm exceedingly well-versed in and staunchly advocate for traditional therapy, but supplementing my bi-weekly traditional therapy appointments with Nadia's targeted, intentional expertise helped me understand, heal and grow exponentially more in just a few months.
Her calm, gentle and loving approach made me feel held in safety and comfort, even when the topic was painfully uncomfortable. She has a way of seeing the soul and understanding what approach, advice, technique, etc is needed at any given moment.
As a mental health professional myself, I highly recommend Nadia Rae Brackett.

Nadia has been my therapist off and on for about four years, and her compassion, insight and empathy have changed me in ways that genuinely matter. She’s helped me untangle deep wounds, question old belief systems and grow into someone stronger, clearer and more confident. Her expertise around the shadow self, self-trust and boundaries is profound and expansive. I’m deeply grateful that our paths crossed.

I’ve worked with Nadia several times when I’ve hit roadblocks. She’s highly intuitive and tuned in. I love how compassionate, warm, sensitive and thoughtful she is. She really knows how to hold a safe space and a container that allows me to be vulnerable and completely unapologetically me. It’s such a gift to be seen by her. Her kindness, gentleness, warmth, awareness, depth in her guidance has truly been the reason why I keep going back to her. She meets me where I am without any force or pressure of any kind. A genuinely gifted soul that I get the privilege to seek guidance from.

When Self-Awareness Starts to Feel Like Its Own Trap
You’re intuitive. Reflective. Maybe you’ve always been the person who notices everything.
You think deeply about your relationships, your reactions, your past, and why you are the way you are.
But sometimes all that awareness becomes another place to get stuck.
You may find yourself:
Understanding the pattern while still repeating it
Overthinking what you feel instead of trusting what you know
Questioning whether something is intuition, anxiety, or an old protective response
Putting everyone else first, then wondering where you went
Craving connection while fearing rejection, abandonment, or losing yourself in it
Holding yourself to impossible standards and rarely feeling like you’ve done enough
Recognizing family or generational patterns you don’t want to keep carrying
You don’t necessarily need to understand yourself more. You may need a different way of being with what you already know.
I offer trauma therapy for adults and trauma therapy for women, including therapy for attachment issues, therapy for abandonment trauma, therapy for generational trauma, therapy for religious trauma, therapy for repressed emotions, and trauma informed therapy for perfectionism.
These patterns didn’t come from nowhere. Many developed around safety, connection, belonging, or acceptance.
Our work isn’t about giving you more to analyze. It’s about helping you move from constantly interpreting yourself toward trusting yourself, experiencing yourself, and having more choice in how you want to live.
What to Expect When Working with a Trauma Therapist
Hi, I’m Nadia!
We live in a world inundated with messages about how to heal, optimize, regulate, and become a “better” version of ourselves.
I believe there’s another way.
I hold an M.A. in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I’m also pursuing my Ph.D. in Depth Psychology. I’ve also completed specialized training in trauma and somatic approaches.
That training shapes how I see this work. Rather than treating every difficult feeling, pattern, or part of you as something to fix, we get curious about what’s underneath and what your experience may be asking you to notice.
There’s no magic formula. Therapy can be messy, nonlinear, surprising, and deeply human. But you don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
I believe meaningful healing happens as we learn to witness ourselves more honestly, understand ourselves more deeply, and build a relationship with ourselves we can trust.
Healing isn’t about becoming someone else. It’s about becoming more fully yourself.
TRAUMA THERAPY FAQS
-
My approach to online therapy for trauma is rooted in depth psychology and integrates relational, somatic, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and Jungian approaches.
Traditional talk therapy can be incredibly valuable. In our work, we may also slow down and pay attention to what’s happening beneath the words, including emotions, body sensations, relationship patterns, dreams, protective responses, and parts of yourself that may be harder to consciously access.
This kind of depth oriented therapy isn’t about analyzing you endlessly. It gives us more ways to understand and experience what may be happening underneath the patterns you already recognize.
-
There isn’t one prescribed way a Jungian therapy session has to look.
Through Jungian oriented therapy, we may become curious about dreams, symbols, recurring themes, archetypes, imagination, or aspects of yourself that exist outside your everyday awareness.
This may also include shadow work therapy, drawing from shadow work psychology to gently explore parts of yourself you’ve learned to hide, reject, judge, or push away.
You don’t need to bring a dream or know anything about Jung before we begin.
-
I provide trauma therapy for adults and trauma therapy for women navigating a wide range of experiences and patterns.
This may include therapy for generational trauma, therapy for abandonment trauma, therapy for religious trauma, therapy for attachment issues, therapy for anxious avoidant attachment, therapy for repressed emotions, relational trauma, childhood trauma, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and difficulty trusting yourself.
You don’t need to arrive with the perfect label for what you’ve experienced. We can begin with what is happening in your life now and get curious together about what may be underneath it.

Yes. I offer psychodynamic therapy online to clients located in Colorado.
Online psychodynamic therapy allows us to explore how earlier experiences, relationships, emotions, and unconscious patterns may continue to shape your present-day life.
My approach to psychodynamic therapy for trauma is integrated with depth psychology, attachment work, somatic awareness, and other trauma-informed approaches rather than practiced as a single standalone technique.
-
No. Online therapy for trauma can offer meaningful support, but it isn’t the right level or format of care for every person or every circumstance.
Part of my responsibility as a therapist is paying attention to whether the care I offer fits your needs. If you need a different level of support, specialized treatment, crisis care, or another type of service, we can talk about that directly.
-
For psychotherapy, clients must be residents of Colorado.
All sessions are virtual, which means you can access online therapy for trauma from anywhere in Colorado without needing to live near a physical office.
If you’ve been searching for therapy for trauma near me, virtual therapy allows us to work together from the privacy of your own space while still engaging in meaningful, in depth therapy.

One of the hard things about therapy is that I can’t give you a predetermined timeline. I know that can feel frustrating when you’re trying to understand what you’re committing to.
Every person comes to therapy with a different history, nervous system, relationships, and hopes for the work. Some clients begin noticing a reduction in symptoms within the first few months, and many experience meaningful changes in their lives and wellbeing within the first year. Your experience and timeline will be uniquely your own.
Because depth oriented therapy goes beyond symptom reduction, the work doesn’t necessarily have to end when you start feeling better. Many of my clients choose to stay in therapy because they value having an ongoing space to understand themselves more deeply, tend to their inner lives, and support their continued wellbeing.
There is no required length of treatment. We’ll continue checking in about what feels meaningful, what’s changing, and what you want from our work. You are always free to pause or end therapy at any time.
