Remember your deepest Self through a trauma-informed, somatic & depth-oriented approach

Holistic Intensives:
Therapeutic Intensives Beyond Self-Improvement

Holistic Intensives are immersive spaces for people who feel called to turn inward and engage their inner life with greater attention, care, and respect.

These extended therapeutic intensives are designed for individuals seeking depth-oriented trauma work, somatic exploration, and psychological integration within a retreat-like setting.

Many trauma intensives focus primarily on symptom reduction or the rapid processing of traumatic memories. While these approaches can be valuable, this work takes a different orientation.

Much of the work I do is with people who experienced early and long-term relational trauma. This is often not a single defining event, but a pattern of experiences that unfolded over time within important relationships during childhood.

When trauma occurs early in life, it can shape how a person comes to understand themselves. It can influence one’s sense of worth, belonging, safety, and what feels possible in relationship with others. These patterns often become so familiar that they begin to feel like identity rather than something that developed in response to experience.

In this work, we approach these patterns with patience and care. Instead of trying to force change, we begin by listening to what these ways of being have been trying to protect.

A holistic intensive is not rooted in the idea that you are broken and need fixing. Instead of approaching inner work as an endless self-improvement project, this work invites a different relationship with yourself, one grounded in care, reverence, and love for the Self.

Within the extended container of an intensive, there is space to slow down, listen more deeply, and move beneath familiar narratives about who you are. Here we attend not only to trauma, but also to the intelligence of the body, the symbolic language of the psyche, and the deeper patterns shaping your inner life.

Each phase of life carries its own questions, thresholds, and invitations. When given time, support, and steady presence, what is emerging within you can be explored with depth and integrity rather than urgency or pressure to change.

This work is not about forcing transformation. It is about creating the conditions where insight, emotion, and embodied awareness can unfold naturally and begin to integrate.

Over time, this kind of attention often supports greater clarity, steadiness, and trust in yourself. What you come to understand about your life is not simply processed. It becomes something you can live from more fully.

Belonging does not come from fitting in. It comes from knowing your place in the web of life, from relationship with land, story and soul

For the times when you find yourself standing at an important threshold

There are times when the usual rhythm of life, and even the structure of weekly sessions, does not offer enough space for what is unfolding internally. Just as something meaningful begins to surface, the conversation ends and life resumes.

An intensive creates a different rhythm.

Instead of touching the edge of an experience and stepping away, there is time to remain with what is emerging. Emotional patterns, bodily responses, dreams, and insights can be explored as they unfold.

Our culture often moves at a pace that is faster than the nervous system can comfortably metabolize. The constant return to schedules, responsibilities, and productivity can make it difficult for deeper psychological processes to fully unfold.

A Holistic Intensive creates space for an intentional slowing down.

The extended time allows the psyche and nervous system to move at a more natural pace. Patterns that might take months to recognize in shorter conversations often begin to reveal themselves more clearly when given sustained attention.

For many people, this creates the conditions for deeper integration. Change is not forced. It emerges through presence, understanding, and relationship with your own experience.

An intensive may feel meaningful when you sense that you are standing at an inner threshold.

You may be:

• navigating a life transition or significant decision
• noticing recurring relational patterns that want deeper attention
• feeling called to explore your inner life more intentionally
• longing for a deeper relationship with your body and nervous system
• wanting uninterrupted space for meaningful psychological and embodiment work

Rather than approaching these moments as problems to solve, the intensive creates space to stay with what is unfolding long enough for deeper insight, integration, and a more trusting relationship with yourself to begin to emerge.

Across cultures and throughout history, moments of inner transition have often been recognized as important rites of passage in one’s life.

These moments often arrive quietly. Something in the way we have been living or understanding ourselves begins to shift. Familiar patterns may no longer feel sustainable, and questions that once remained in the background begin asking for deeper attention. We may feel drawn to pause and listen more closely to what is changing within us. Not because something is wrong, but because something new is beginning to take shape.

In many earlier cultures, these kinds of moments were recognized as important turning points in a person's life. They were often held within rites of passage, spaces set apart from ordinary routines where individuals could step away from their usual roles and attend to what was unfolding within them.

Modern life rarely offers these kinds of containers.

Yet the psyche still moves through thresholds.

A Holistic Intensive can become a contemporary space for this kind of inner transition to be explored with intention, depth, and care. Rather than moving quickly past these moments, the intensive allows you to pause long enough to listen for what is emerging and to understand what your life may be asking of you now.

ELEMENTS OF A HOLISTIC INTENSIVE

the Holistic Intensive Structure

A Holistic Intensive is not simply a longer session. It is an intentionally created container that allows deeper psychological and somatic work to unfold with care, presence, and attention.

Each intensive begins before we ever meet.

Once you schedule your intensive, you will receive a preparation form. It serves as an invitation to begin slowing down and turning your attention inward, helping you ground into the intention for the work ahead.

The preparation form offers space to reflect on where you are in your life right now, what you are sensing internally, and what you hope the intensive might support. You may share questions, patterns, or areas of your life that feel ready for deeper exploration.

After reviewing your form, I will send personalized resources to support your preparation. These may include Enneagram exploration, a myth or fairytale that resonates with the themes emerging in your life, and other materials designed to help you begin entering the space intentionally.

From there, we co-create the structure of the intensive together.

Some people arrive with a clear focus. Others simply sense that something within them is asking for attention. Together we shape a container that allows both intention and openness, creating room for depth, spontaneity, and discovery.

Holistic Intensives are held in three-hour sessions. Some individuals choose a single intensive session, while others choose to work together across multiple sessions over the course of one to three days, depending on the depth of work desired and what you are hoping to explore.

Holistic Intensives may take place virtually or in person.

Virtual intensives are designed to feel like a retreat within your own space, often including time set aside from daily responsibilities so you can fully enter the work without interruption.

For those who prefer an in-person setting, I offer multi-day intensives in the Highlands and Cashiers area of Western North Carolina, where the natural landscape provides a quiet and supportive backdrop for deeper reflection.

On occasion, I am also able to travel to clients for private intensives. Previous intensives have taken place in locations such as Taos, New Mexico, Houston, Texas, and Denver, Colorado.

At the end of our time together, we close the intensive container intentionally. You will receive a personalized integration guide with reflections, practices, and resources to support the continued unfolding of the work.

the Investment

Holistic Intensives are offered both virtually and in person. The investment for the retreat experience is the same in either format; the only additional costs for in-person retreats are travel, lodging, and meals.

In-person intensive retreats take place in Cashiers + Highlands in the mountains of Western North Carolina, two quiet mountain towns located about 60 miles southwest of Asheville, North Carolina.

A one-day intensive is $999 USD (virtual only)
A two-day intensive is $1,800 USD (virtual or in-person)
A three-day intensive is $2,700 USD (virtual or in-person)

  • A Holistic Intensive is a series of three-hour private sessions designed to create space for depth, presence, and meaningful exploration beyond what is typically possible in a standard session.

Each intensive is shaped around your intentions and what feels most supportive for you in the moment.

Intensives are offered as a 1–3 day experience, with one three-hour session per day. You choose the length and pacing that feels right for you.

  • For clients located in Colorado, virtual intensives are provided as psychotherapy services under my licensure.
